Tip Tuesday #7

So my second post today is about something that I am sure A LOT of us deal with!

Ever go to apply your mascara and end up with it all over your eye lid?! Yeah, that's my problem.

EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

But I have found a solution! Find yourself an old credit card or a business card and get yourself ready to never deal with this problem again!

Simply put the card above your eye right behind your lashes and apply your mascara as normal. You can get all the way to the tip and all the way to the water line and leave zero trace on your eye lid! Do the same on the bottom! If you put the card in the correct spot, you can even use your mascara as an eyeliner!

Don't have a card near by? Try a price tag or some tape on your lid!

Tip Tuesday: #6

Okay! I have been LAME with my tips lately. (that's what happens when you have a little 9 month boy)

But I want to make it up to by posting LOTS of tips today!

So just watch out today for more tips and don't forget to ask if you have something in particular you'd like me to share!

TIP TUESDAY #SIX

This one is the one I posted on February 4th at Younique By Emily!

Brilliant Moisturizer is great to help with wrinkles! But want a way to PREVENT them?

Face Yoga is an AMAZING way to keep your face from wrinkling and helps keep the skin on your face elastified (yeah.. just made up that word). It will look COMPLETELY ridiculous but will give you a long lasting face to love and enjoy! If you want to get a REAL laugh out of it, video it! If you record it and put it on YouTube with a reference to my blog, I will GIVE you free product!

So check out this awesomeness to help keep those wrinkles at bay.

Tip Tuesday #4 and #5

So I totally missed last weeks tip. I got it on Facebook and I wrote it up on here but never actually published it.

Give me a break. I'm a stay at home mom and some times things happen.

Boston is feeling not so great today so today has been a little hard as well. But that won't stop me! I WILL get last week and this week's tip posted. And actually... they go hand in hand!

So last week on Facebook, I gave everyone a little tip about the best way to pluck eyebrows.

I use to pluck my eyebrows when I was younger. I HATED getting them waxed. Especially since you usually had to pluck a few in the end anyways. Well, I wish I had known this little tip when I would pluck. Probably would have made things a little easier.

TIP TUESDAY: TIP #4

Hold off on plucking your eyebrows until right after (or even during) a hot shower. I'm sure you've heard that heat helps open your pores and that is exactly what you need to help ease the pain.

So whether you keep a mirror in your shower and pluck your eyebrows or pluck right after you've been in a hot shower (or bath), plucking when your pores are wide open will help reduce any pain that may happen.

Super simple. But a great way to avoid any unnecessary pain.

Now that we've done last week's tip.... you probably want to hear THIS week's tip!

I said they go hand in hand... and you'll see why in a second.

Younique has an AMAZING face wash. I honestly have loved every second of it. If I decided to stop wearing all makeup all together, (Younique or not), I would STILL use Awake Facial Cleanser and Brilliant Moisturizer. They are my FAVORITE products that we carry.

But I will tell you more about them some other time.

TIP TUESDAY: Tip #5

How do you wash your face? In the morning? At night? In the shower? In the sink? With the hose in the backyard? (I sure hope not)

First off... no one does this. Who wants water all over the place? Really?
I remember when I was about 12 years old, I was at a church function and we had some older girls teach us about properly applying makeup. One thing they said always stuck out to me.

"When you wash your face, always use warm-hot water."

Now not scolding hot but not too close to being cold. You want the water to be pleasantly warm. Do you know why? (this is where last week's tip is related)

You want to open up your pores! LET THOSE SUCKERS BREATH!

Closed Clogged Pores
A big reason that we get acne is because our pores get clogged up. People think that just washing your face is good enough. They don't care what product they use or how often or even the water temp. Washing your face is washing your face, right?

Wrong.

I'm not going to tell you that Younique's facial wash is the only kind that anyone should use. But I will tell you. Do not use a bar of soap. Please, please, please. When you use soap in a solid form, it actually clogs your pores more. You only want liquid soap when washing your face. (I actually don't use bar soap at all no matter what or where I'm using it)

Here is my routine:

As I'm getting ready for bed, I do the norm.

Get in pjs, Go potty, take my contacts out.

Then
  1. I always wet my face with warm-hot water.
  2. I get a small amount of Awake Facial Cleanser and massage it on my face in circular motion for about 60 seconds.
  3. I then wash my face with warm-hot water again (making sure to get all soap off).
  4. PAT dry my face. Do not rub your face with a towel. Ever. That agitates your skin and will cause irritation.
  5. Lastly, I apply one pearl and some gel of Brilliant Moisturizer on my face.
Super simple but it helps my face feel so clean and fresh!

I've been told that you should always apply cool water to your face afterwards to then close your pores. But I just let the coolness of my moisturizer do that. If you do not use something like that, I would suggest just wetting your face with cool water.

Like I said in part 4, please do not rub your face with a towel. Your face is a very precious part of your body and you do not want irritation.

I know this was a super long one but I take my skin very seriously. I want everyone to know how important it is to take care of your face! Like I said before, if I ever stopped wearing makeup for some reason that I honestly don't know, I would ALWAYS wash my face still.

I hope I helped some understand better how to take care of their skin. All of this can be applied to anywhere on your body. Your face isn't the only part of skin you have.

Tip Tuesday: Tip #3

Yes yes yes. I know it's Wednesday. Yesterday was a "hold me mommy" sort of day and I didn't get much of anything done. But that's alright. I think it also felt like a "let me hold you baby" sort of day to me too.

I was hoping to highlight a blogger today with today's tip but I could not get in contact with her.

But that won't stop me! Today's tip is about getting that oh so perfect cat eye! You may have heard of this tip before so please bear with me.

What you will need to create this awesome liner trick:
Makeup
Makeup tools

Tape

I tried this about a week ago and, while I'm still learning, I thought I did a pretty good job! I had a pic but when I actually looked at it... it was super blurry. So when I get the chance, I will take another and post it here for you to see!

My awesome Younique Sponsor and best friend made an awesome tutorial video for everyone to learn this trick!

So head over to this video right HERE or watch it right here on my blog!

Get ready to get those perfect lines!

Special thanks to Colette for allowing me to use this video!

TIP TUESDAY: Tip #2

That's right everyone! It is TIP TUESDAY again!

Today's tip is a very simple one that you may know already and if you didn't, you might just love it!

Are you ready for it?

Are you sure?

Ok. Here it comes!!!

If you had a shimmer eyeshadow to the corner of your eye, it will help make your eyes POP!

Add a little bit of shimmer pigment to the area marked to help make your eyes stand out.

That's right! Just a simple little dab of pigment in the corner of your eye helps.

I personally love using Younique Moodstruck Mineral Shimmer Pigment Sexy. It's a very natural color that goes with any and all other colors. I also use Sexy to add shimmer to other colors that don't have shimmer themselves.

Are you 'moodstruck' yet?

You can find other shimmer colors at my website HERE .

TIP TUESDAY: Tip #1

I grew up in a family of 2 boys and 3 girls besides me. You'd think with that many girls, we would have an idea of how to properly put on makeup but, actually, that is not true at all! None of us knew anything.

Here is the list of what I did know...

mascara goes on your lashes
blush went on your cheeks
eye shadow was for your eye lids
foundation on your face

That's it. Now did I know how best to apply all this? Not at all.

So when I started selling Younique products, I can honestly tell you that it was little over my head. But with the help of all my fellow presenters and my best friend, I can now tell you that I know many tricks to applying makeup!

But I don't want to keep this to myself! I want to share it with EVERYONE!

So I'd like to introduce to you, TIP TUESDAY!

Every Tuesday, I will share the secrets of my mind and give you tips on how to get the most out of your beauty supplies. That's right. Not just makeup! I want to help you figure out the best way to beautify your body!

Today's tip is brought to you by MaskCara! Cara is a Makeup Artist in Southern Utah who LOVES makeup! She loves to share all this beautiful with her friends and family. Check out Cara's blog by heading here and don't forget to like her on facebook!

Cara has many tips on her blog and I found just the right one to start us off.

Since starting with Younique, I have had troubles with cleaning my brushes. Mainly because I've never dealt with makeup brushes before and had no idea how to clean them. I've asked around and heard many different ways to do it but Cara has a great solution!

Not only does she share a way to deep clean your brushes, she has a simple dry solution that you can make yourself to help sanitize your brushes between uses!

Find this amazing recipe and tip by heading to MaskCara's blog! Just click right HERE!
